Fishing in The Lot
Don't miss out on a chance to fish some of the cleanest stretches of the Dordogne river
Our B&B is only 200m from the Cere river so fishing before or indeed for breakfast is easy. The Cere river feeds the mighty Dordogne at Girac ( a 10 minute drive) although it is possible to fish the Dordogne only 5 minutes away. Fario Trout weighing 2 - 3Kg are taken from the Dordogne each year and Grayling are available in local sectors. Night fishing for Carp is available at Laval-de-Cère (5km) or Vayrac (18km). Mézels at Vayrac is also home for Zander and some 1m long Pike. Children and grown-ups can have fun with "guaranteed catch" fishing at the Pisciculture Mercœur (6km), no licence is required and you are given bamboo canes to fish with.
Other fish to be caught include.
Black bass, Shad, Perch, Rainbow Trout, Gudgeon and Eel.
A holiday licence is €30 for 15 days.
